How hard would it be to attend a Thursday night outdoor session if I'm only 15, turning 16 this July. I've done Parkour for around 6 months by myself. Finally managed to find the time (in between school and family trips) to make it down to Brisbane for an actual class. I live on the Sunnie Coast. Reckon there's any chance of me getting into it? Would be a waste to only go down for the Wednesday night.

Thanks,
Scribbles.

P.S. The only time I can actually find is on Wednesday 31st/Thursday 1st sessions.

My son was at the meeting place on Sunday arvo before 3.30pm but nobody turned up.  He had to wait there till almost 5pm for me to pick him up.  Can somebody tell me what happened please?  This is the 4th time that this has happened to us.  It takes a lot of planning and hours of travel to get him there.  He has not managed to complete a class yet.  It is not only costly and frustrating for me but extremely disappointing for him.  We have a lot of teens wanting to learn parkour in our area and he is the only person capable of teaching them.  It is important that he learns to instruct  correctly.

Seeing as it's happened four times something tells me you may be missing something. I'm not from Brisbane or involved in the classes,  but maybe give Tony a call or email. His contact details can be found on the Contact Us page.

Also, don't presume that your son will be capable of teaching because he's been to a couple of instructor training sessions. You should also be aware that if your son steps into that role or labels himself as 'instructor' within his community there are responsibilites you should consider. Like, what happens when whilst 'instructing' a kid, he falls and is hospitalised due to a serious injury of some kind. Parents may want to point fingers, and you know who they'll be pointing them at.

Maybe it is worth trying to organise Tony and/or other APA instructors to come to you guys to give some good quality instruction to those that need it. Again, maybe worth getting in touch with him.

jthom14 here,

im 14 and i was wondering do you have to be really fit to come to one of the
indoor classes? because id really like to learn but im a tad on the chubby side
and im not sure whether that will stop me from doing certain things. i mean
i can do turn-vaults and the easy ones but not the very physically demanding stuff
like monkeys and dash ect.....
it sucks cause all my mates can do all these cool vaults but im stuck not being able
to jump high enough or not have enough power in my arms.

anyway id like to come but i dont know what kind of stuff id have to know
to join

cheers,

The wednesday Basics class is perfect for you. There is no minimum level of fitness or previous training required. Look forward to seeing you in class!
